“Before finding Still Here Youths, I had ideas about what I wanted to do, but I didn't know where to begin. The goal activities helped me break everything down into smaller steps. I now feel more confident speaking about my future.
What I learnt: Progress does not have to happen all at once.
“The quizzes made learning feel less like schoolwork. I liked getting an explanation after every answer because it helped me understand what I got wrong without feeling embarrassed.
What I learnt: More about healthy habits, communication and how to ask for help.
“I wasn't sure whether I wanted to study, work or do an apprenticeship. The Career Lab helped me compare different pathways and write down the steps I could take next.
What I learnt: There is more than one pathway to building a good future.
“Still Here Youths felt positive and different. It wasn't just people telling me what to do. The activities encouraged me to think about my own choices and the type of person I want to become.
What I learnt: How important discipline, consistency and supportive people can be.
“Meeting Sahr Ellie and the Still Here Youths team helped me feel heard. They spoke to me respectfully and encouraged me to think about my goals, education and the people I keep around me.
What I learnt: Asking for guidance is a strong decision, not a weak one.
“The daily missions helped me start making small changes. I began writing down my goals, improving my routine and taking my future more seriously.
What I learnt: Small actions can build confidence over time.
